Simon has been a film editor for feature films and series for over ten years.
He cultivates long-standing and well-established collaborations with many directors. Regularly, he also works with new filmmakers and welcomes any form of challenge and further development. Simon's filmography covers a broad spectrum of projects. In addition to features and series, his experiences from documentaries, commercials, and numerous short films also feed into his present focus on fictional work.
Currently, Simon is working with director Aaron Arens on the highly successful TV series Doppelhaushälfte. Other series he has edited include Davos 1917 by director Jan-Eric Mack, Das Netz by director Rick Ostermann and Turmschatten for Paramount+ by director Hannu Salonen.
In collaboration with Editor Sophie Blöchlinger, Simon edited the feature film Butterfly Stroke (in Postproduction) by filmmaker Denis Rabaglia. The Forgotten by Daria Onyshchenko, Der Gejagte by Rick Ostermann and Einfach Nina by Karin Heberlein are further feature films he was responsible for editing.
Many of his projects have been shown at countless festivals around the world and won awards. For example, the short film Facing Mecca by director Jan-Eric Mack won a Student Academy Award, the Best of the Festival Award and the Best Student Live Action Over 15min Award at the Palm Springs International Shortfest. The film Deine Strasse by director Güzin Kar was shown in competition at the 71st Berlinale, the Locarno Film Festival, the American Film Institute Fest (AFI), and many other festivals.
Simon earned his Master of Arts in Film Editing from the Zurich University of the Arts. He is based in Berlin and is a member of the European Film Academy.
